Starting as humble warrior-monks protecting pilgrims in the Holy Land, the Knights Templar developed
a global support network and became rich and powerful. This illustrated talk will look at the order's foundation and the London sites connected with their headquarters and brutal suppression
Gaynor Joeseph: on The Skirrid Holy Mountain, near Abergavenny.
Ysgyryd Fawr, a mountain varying in shape from peak to ridge depending on the viewpoint, rises to1,594 ft (486 m). Once a chapel stood upon the summit. This talk will draw from varied sources to tell of the history.
Tamzin Powell: on The Cunning Men and Women of the Forest of Dean.
Ros Briagha: on The A40, an ancient road from the past to the future!
We will look at some of the many ancient megalithic sites along this road, which connects England with both Wales and Ireland. The different ages of the monuments suggest that this road has been in use for over 4,000 years. Ros has travelled along it for many years, and found her own connection with these old stones.
